Pickleball Etiquette 101

We are a social bunch and I have enjoyed every minute of pickleball. After playing or watching countless number of games, I thought it might be a good idea to list what I think makes someone a good playing partner or opponent.

Enjoys playing the game, win or lose

Picks up the ball whenever possible and throws or hits it back rather than kick it or slapping it back

Avoids giving unsolicited advice

Plays with all levels, encouraging beginners

Makes line calls fairly with input from partner

Calls NVZ fault on self and playing partner

Attempts to avoid slamming the ball at newcomers and less skilled players

Makes sure that all players are given equal time on the courts

Avoids targeting the weaker player (with the exception of tournaments) for the sole purpose of winning

Respects all players regardless of skill level
