Danvers Friday Nights
Greetings and welcome to our new players. They are all picking up the game really quickly and are having a great time. For you old timers – thanks for all your help as we spread our love for the game to these new players.
GOOD NEWS – Feb 5th, Feb 12th and Feb 19th we continue to start play at 7:00. Still pushing hard for the same times for March
Last week we tried something new to mix things up. At 8:30 we had one court playing with dedicated partners. This gives tournament teams or folks that enjoy playing together an opportunity to work on their game and have fun. Although it is fun to mix things up, you can also do this throughout the night. Just remember – you can not jump to the front of the line – you need to put your paddle BEHIND the person you want to play the next match with.
Save the date. Back by popular demand “cupids cup” will be held on Friday February 12th. Warm-up from 7-7:30, play starts at 7:30. Please let me know by February 10th if you are planning to play and if you have a partner. I will match all other participants. Not sure of the format yet – all ideas are welcome.
Couple of housekeeping items. Please
· remember to pay when you come in. Best deal is a 10 punch card for $60. And you can share! Weekly we need to show DIS that we are worthy of the court time!
· contribute to the cracked ball funs. This is how we pay for court tape and balls. $2 is all we need
· If you have a net – please bring it. The FNFB crew bought one, we still need two (usually Kathy and I bring ours – but if we can not come or are late…)
· respect all levels of players.
Anyone interested in joining the Pickleball Mile club? http://www.pickleballmile.com/ If yes – go on-line and sign up. Each week you record your games played (4 = 1 mile). Prizes will be awarded based on mileage. If we get a strong team maybe we can challenge another club? Could be fun. Check it out! (I already have 10 miles!)
See you on the courts!

Many Hands Make Light Work

Someday there will be permanent lines and outdoor courts with permanent nets. It's not a dream. It will happen as it has across the country in unlikely places as Fisher Indiana or St George Utah. Towns that take the step will benefit from an influx of players who will dine, drink and gas up in local establishments.
